あなたが、ひょっとして(万が一) 退出する(下向する)ことがあったら、白妙(ﾀﾍ)の袖を振ってください。見ながらお慕(ｼﾀ)いしましょう。
Should you leave the capital to the provinces suddenly,
I would miss you, seeing your white sleeve waving, lonely.

夫が、配流され越前へ旅立ち、離れて行くときに、道すがら白い袖を振ってほしいと請う惜別の歌。
This is a farewell song in which the wife asks her husband to wave her white sleeves as they travel apart after he is exiled and leaves for Echizen.
