Minabe No Himemiko

御名部皇女は、天智天皇の皇女(娘)で、元明天皇の同母姉。妹である元明天皇を励ますため答えて詠んだ歌とされる。とりようによって励ましとは言えない内容だ。
Princess Minabe no Himemiko was the daughter of Emperor Tenji and the older sister of Empress Genmei. It is said that she composed this poem in response to encourage her younger sister, Empress Genmei. However, depending on how it is interpreted, the content cannot be encouraging to her.
