たちばなの 花散る軒の しのぶ草 むかしをかけて 露ぞこぼるる

(要旨)
橘の花の散る軒先にある忍ぶ草(思い出のよすが)が、昔を思い出させ、わたしの目に露(涙)をこぼさせるのだ
It is the enduring leaves of dispersing Tachibana, mandarin orange flowers, at the eaves,
that make me remember the past and wet in tears and dewdrops my eyes.
