山科の御陵から人々が退散する時に、額田王が作った歌一首
あまねく国土を統治された(=やすみしし)、わが大君の、恐れ多いことよ、御陵に仕え、山科の鏡の山に、夜は一晩中、昼は一日中、声をあげて泣きつづけて、大宮人も別れわかれに立去っていくのだろうか。
