At foggy dawn, the vicinity
Becoming slowly but surely appearing,
In the shallows around Uji River, misty,
With the mists intermittently disconnected then enveloping,
Ajirogi, the piles, are here and there emerging.

By Sadayori Fujiwara
Translated by Kota Nakako

(Appreciation)
At dawn, the vicinity becoming gradually visible, the mists around the Uji River intermittently disconnected, Ajirogi, the piles, are coming into sight in the shallows here and there.
