田の仮小屋にわが夫あるいは恋人がにっこり笑って立っている。農作業の中での一風景だが、意味深な歌ともとれる。軽臼のように尻軽なあいつが、田の仮小屋のそばで、笑みを浮かべて(周囲の女に)愛嬌を振りまいて立っているのが見える、という趣旨の解釈もある(万葉集ナビ https://manyoshu-japan.com)。これは面白い。
The husband or lover is standing smiling in a temporary hut in the rice field. This is a scene from farm work, but it can also be interpreted as a meaningful song. One interpretation is that the man, who is as easy as a mortar, can be seen standing beside a temporary hut in the rice field, smiling and charming the women around him (Manyoshu Navi https://manyoshu-japan.com). This is interesting.
