難波(なにわ)潟(がた)の蘆(あし)*のその短い節(せつ)と節のわずかな間も、逢わないまま、あなたはわたしにこの世を終えてしまえと言うのでしょうか。
*イネ科ヨシ属の多年草。河川及び湖沼の水際に背の高い群落を形成する。

I should see you never
And end my life pitiless,
Even in a short interval whatsoever
